Use of Artificial Intelligence to Design Theaching Proposals for Physics and Chemistry in Compulsory Secondary Education

Abstract

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has evolved enormously from its origins in the technological world to its incorporation into everyday life, and has provoked both criticism of copyright and content authenticity, as well as advocates promoting its integration into education. This work focuses on collecting accessible AI tools, learning how to use them properly, and analyzing their performance as an aid in didactic design in Physics and Chemistry in 2nd and 4th ESO. After collecting 23 tools, ChatGPT and Perplexity were selected for text generation. Using structured requests, the textual tools created various learning situations, and the responses obtained were evaluated by observation, checklists and comparisons with a previously designed learning situation. It was concluded that these platforms have a great potential to personalize and reflect the teacher’s requests with the appropriate and sufficient questions asked, with great ease of use and accessibility for the common digital user, therefore being a good support for the creation of didactic material.
