Resumen
La caída de la casa Usher (2023) es una miniserie de terror gótico creada por el director y productor Mike Flanagan que narra los sucesos acontecidos a los Usher, una familia de millonarios cuyos miembros empiezan a sucumbir, uno a uno y en extrañas circunstancias, a la muerte. La serie, que toma el relato homónimo «La caída de la casa Usher» (1839) de Edgar Allan Poe como punto de partida, está basada en la vida y obra del autor norteamericano, fusionando una infinidad de relatos y poemas para crear una nueva historia que pone de manifiesto la riqueza del mundo de Poe. Dentro de este elaborado entramado intertextual, el presente capítulo se centrará en analizar la presencia del relato «La caída de la casa Usher» en la serie (a nivel narrativo, de los personajes, los temas que comparten, la estética, y el uso de la cita literaria), así como el proceso de actualización que tiene lugar al transportar el cuento a nuestros días.
