Science and Scientific Culture
Abstract The concepts of science and scientific culture are clearly distinguished in this article, and a new model of scientific culture is proposed. The model allows analysing the meaning and implications of famous debates about scientific and humanistic culture, like that produced by Snow lecture in 1959, or like the controversy between Ortega y Gasset and Unamuno at the beginning of the 20th century. The need to actively promote the development of a scientific culture adapted to the real state of science derives as a conclusion from this analysis.
