The forms of cultural literacy in the information society
Abstract The concept of literacy has transforming the meaning, to a literal meaning to another metaphorical, to finish in a proposal for basic education, which raises the problem of basic cultural requirements bay posed the literacy in the context of the information society. This metamorphosis has led to the expression multiple literacies, involving in the process literacy many dimensions. An analysis of literacy lead to the reconstruction of the historic process of cultural integration, taking into account three extraordinary cultural contingencies: the introduction of oral language and cultures of orality, the introduction of reading-writing literacy and the emergence of cultures that correspond to the introduction of digital technologies and the emergence of the so-called information society. The metamorphosis of literacy shows that can not be done but as force of the three cultural contingencies.
