Notas sobre la taxonomía, la antropología y la primatología de Carlos Linneo (1701–1778)

Resumen

Utilizando una metodología multidisciplinar, que intenta aunar lo mejor de las tradiciones científica y humanista, este trabajo profundiza en las concepciones, y también en los prejuicios, de Carlos Linneo (1701–1778) en los ámbitos de la antropología y de la primatología. Heredero de la larga tradición sobre la Gran Cadena del Ser y fundador de la taxonomía moderna, el naturalista sueco nombró miles de especies de animales y plantas. Siempre en latín, clasificó, además, los minerales y otros muchos objetos, incluyendo las supuestas razas humanas. En este estudio se le considera como un precursor del Proyecto Gran Simio, que pretende extender unos derechos mínimos más allá del Homo sapiens.
