Cinema, Historical Research and University. The Metamorphosis of Reality in the Fictitious Construction of the Past
Abstract The purpose of the work is to analyze the reflection in the cinema of university work in the construction of history and to assess its possibilities as a means for teaching, learning and research processes. To this end, it has been determined to study the film Soldiers of Salamina (2003), directed by David Trueba and starring a university professor who undertakes a double investigation around real characters and historical events, following the script based on the novel of the same name by Javier Cercas (2001). In addition, the graphic novel (2019) by José Pablo García is analyzed to elucidate the narrative resources used in these creations. The university is an element used to give credibility to history that can be used in teaching to question the narrated facts based on knowledge and scientific research on historical reality.
