Los orígenes del Colegio Menor de la Concepción de Huérfanos de Salamanca

Resumen

RESUMEN: El Colegio Menor de la Concepción de Huérfanos de la Universidad de Salamanca es uno más de la gran cantidad de colegios que se fundaron al amparo del estudio salmantino en el siglo XVI. Fundado por Francisco de Solís, obispo de Bagnorea y secretario de Paulo III, durante tres siglos facilitó y proporcionó amparo y educación a multitud de estudiantes pobres que no tenían recursos para ello. Fundado en la primera mitad del siglo XVI, durante esta centuria se asentó y comenzó su andadura, que terminaría en el siglo XIX. Este trabajo realiza un análisis sobre los primeros años de vida del Colegio, analizando cuestiones tan importantes como su fundación, las bulas fundacionales, el fundador, las primeras constituciones o la matrícula durante el siglo XVI, entre otras. Fue el siglo XVI el siglo de su nacimiento y consolidación, realizando durante esta centuria un gran esfuerzo institucional, como demuestra el hecho de la elaboración de las primeras constituciones, la construcción del edificio, o la incorporación a la Universidad de Salamanca, por ejemplo. A lo largo de estas páginas realizaremos un recorrido por los orígenes del primer colegio universitario que se crea para el amparo de niños pobres y huérfanos, permitiéndoles estudiar desde la gramática hasta graduarse en la ciencia que mejor les pareciere. La obra social y educativa del Colegio permitió la progresión y ascenso social de multitud de estudiantes pobres y huérfanos con talento, que de otra forma nunca hubieran podido realizar estudios en la Universidad, puesto que carecían de recursos para ello.ABSTRACT: The Conception of Orphans Minor College of the University of Salamanca is one more of the great quantity of colleges that were founded under protection of Salamancan Study in the 16th century. It was founded by Francisco de Solís, bishop of Bagnorea and secretary of Paulo III, provided protection and education to many poor students without resources for that for three centuries. Founded in the first middle of the 16th century, during this century established itself and began its walking that would finish in the 19th century. This work makes an analysis about the first years of the College, analysing matters as important as its foundation, the foundation bulls, the founder, the first constitutions and the registration during the 16th century, among others. The 16th century was the century of its beginning and consolidation, making a great institutional effort, as we can see from working on the first constitutions, the building's construction and joinning the University of Salamanca, for instance. Along these pages we will look through the first college's origin that is founded for protecting poor children and orphans, allowing them to study from grammar even graduate in the science they chose. This College's charity allowed a lot of talented and poor students and orphans to progress and promote socially, who would not have gone to University by no means, since they were without resources for that.
