The use of the TIC reduces really the social vulnerability in the youngsters?

Abstract

This article brings out the discussion on whether young people who use ICT are less vulnerable than those who don’t use them. In order to respond to this question, first the concept of social vulnerability in the present society is defined and its relation with ICT is pointed out. Next some characteristics of young people are remarked. To follow, some approaches to the construction of indicators about social vulnerability are made, from the revision of several researches about young people and ICT. Finally it is debated which are the necessary competencies to reduce young people vulnerability in front of ICT.
