Abstract

The term Grand Tour refers to the journey through Europe made by young, mainly British, aristocrats as part of their education. The main destination of the Grand Tour was Italy. Cecilia Stazzone De Gregorio makes the same trip, but in the opposite direction: from Naples. She collected her impressions in one volume, one of the rare examples of travels in Italy to be published in Italy during the nineteenth century, and the first, no doubt, in the pen of a woman.
