«Concussion» (2015): A Sports Medicine Dispute in the Billboard
Abstract Concussion (2015) by Peter Landesman, is a sports drama based on a true story about the life of a famous forensic neuropathologist: Dr. Bennet Omalu whose character is played by actor Will Smith. This film recounts the events leading up to Dr. Omalu toward discovering a progressive neurodegenerative disease, which he named as Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE). Disease manifested in professional football players, as a result of the constant number of collisions received on the field. This discovery led to a dislike to one of the most powerful and beloved corporations in the world, the NFL (National Football League). This situation led the NFL try to discredit the information published by Dr. Bennet Omalu, who decided to take the risk of confronting the NFL in order to unveil the truth.
