«Lejos de ella» / «Away From Her» (2006). Protagonist analysis
Abstract
Away From Her (2006) tells a story about love and self-esteem, in which the most relevant aspects of Alzheimer disease are reflected. It is a sad and afflictive picture that highlights the reality of human con- dition.
Alzheimer disease is a topic that has been recursively approached by the film industry (movies, documen- taries, short films, etc.). Such is the interest that this disease has aroused to the seventh art that, startin from these reels, a lot of papers have been written in magazines, blog, web pages…
The aim of this article is to analyse Away From Her’s characters to bring the reader into the emotional, social and family consequences that the disease has
