Retraction and Post‑Publication Corrections Policy

https://doi.org/10.14201/adcaij.retracted

ADCAIJ ensures the integrity of the scientific record by following the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and the NISO RP‑45‑2024 standard (Communication of Retractions, Removals, and Expressions of Concern – CREC).

ADCAIJ implements CrossMark as a mechanism to inform readers about the current status and validity of each publication. All articles and post‑publication notices will include CrossMark metadata, when appropriate, to communicate corrections, retractions, expressions of concern, or other relevant updates to the published record.

Post‑publication corrections, expressions of concern, retractions, and withdrawals of articles will be communicated through independent public notices, each with its own DOI and standardized metadata, clearly linked to the affected article and accessible on the journal’s website.

Editorial notices will be deposited with metadata that include persistent relationships between the original article and subsequent updates (e.g., corrections, retractions, or expressions of concern), in accordance with CrossMark relational schemes and applicable interoperable standards.

Each notice will indicate the date and reason for the editorial decision, identify the body issuing the decision (editorial board, journal, publisher, or authors), state when applicable whether the authors agree or disagree, keep the original article record visible (with a RETRACTED label or header when appropriate), and notify indexing, preservation systems, and relevant third parties to ensure traceability and correct identification by humans and automated systems.

Preservation of the Version of Record

The journal will permanently preserve the Version of Record of published articles. No substantive correction will be made through silent modifications to the published content; any subsequent change will be communicated through formal notices linked to the original article and documented in its metadata.

Definitions

Post‑publication corrections (errata, corrigenda, or addenda) are used to correct errors that do not substantially compromise the overall reliability of the work’s results or conclusions.

An expression of concern is an editorial notice that highlights potential problems in an article while its validity or integrity is under investigation.

A retraction is the mechanism by which the scientific record is corrected when an article contains serious errors or irregularities that invalidate its results or conclusions.

When only part of the work is affected and the remainder remains valid, the journal may, when appropriate, issue partial retractions or major corrections, in line with the principle of proportionality and the recommendations of COPE and NISO CREC.

Editorial withdrawal prior to publication (Withdrawal). This may be applied exceptionally to early‑published versions or accepted articles before their final Version
