Abstract

RESUMEN: El autor del trabajo analiza la vida y la obra de San Millán de la Cogo- 11a a través del estudio del fenómeno hagiográfico concreto, que personaliza en su autor, Braulio de Zaragoza, representante distinguido y respetado del grupo de los poderosos. La "Vita" muestra la oposición entre la vida contemplativa, el paraíso, y la vida activa, la terrenalidad, suscitando en los lectores comportamientos cristianos ejemplares, pero además ensalzando la vida monástica como un fenómeno rural, no urbano, y semillero a la vez de muchos de los prelados de la Hispania visigoda.ABSTRACT: The author of this work analyzes the life and work of St. Millán de la Cogolla by means of a study of the specific hagiographie work personalized in its author, Braulio of Saragossa, a distinguished and respected representative of powerful.This "Vita" shows the opposition between the contemplative life, paradise, and the active life, earthliness, thus rousing exemplary Christian behavior in the readers, but also extolling monastic life as a rural rather than urban phenomenon, as well as a breeding ground for many of the prelates of Visigothic Hispania.
