A New Latin Inscription from Roman Oxyrhynchus
Abstract This article aims to report the discovery of a new Latin inscription found during the excavation of tomb n.42 of the Upper Necropolis of the city of Oxyrhynchus in 2019. The discovery represents a further milestone in the knowledge of the Latin epigraphy of the site since there are hardly any other documented Latin inscriptions. It will be added to the epigraphic databank of the city, increasing the knowledge about its citizens and the Roman period in Oxyrhynchus.
