Pedagogy of alterity: Experiences in the education system of the female spanish muslim students
Abstract This paper reports a portion of a wide research. This research focuses on the identity and integration of Spanish women who are part of the religious Muslim minority studying at universities. The paper discusses the experiences of these women during their academic life in relation to their personal identity. Furthermore, the aim is to make this research useful for improving teacher’s pedagogical practices responding to the classroom diversity. The objectives of this research are explained in the introduction. Additionally, It is claimed that there is a gap in Spain regarding this kind of researches and topics. Latter on, the research methodology is displayed: the scientific-qualitative one. After that, the interviews' application results are unfolded. Finally, there is a final section in which some approaches of the pedagogy of alterity or inclusion are proposed to overcome the stereotype that exists over the Muslim female students.
