La enseñanza del patrimonio musical, una propuesta desde la localidad de Caravaca de la Cruz

Abstract

This article aims to integrate the musical heritage of the Caravaca de la Cruz region into primary education, specifically in the area of music education. To this end, it takes as its starting point the local festivities of Tío de la Pita and Caballos del Vino, as well as Moors and Christians, declared Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO. Based on this idea, a teaching proposal is designed and implemented that aims to link the curriculum content with the students’ context. The methodology is divided into three phases: activity design, implementation, and evaluation of results, and is carried out with 3rd-year primary school students.

The results obtained show a high level of involvement and motivation among the students, as well as a reinforcement of their sense of belonging and understanding of heritage as an important link to their own identity. The conclusion is that, without a doubt, working with festive and traditional music in the classroom contributes to the comprehensive education of students, as long as it forms part of their immediate environment.
