Environmental education through the implementation of collaborative learning on the web. A pilot experience for an european higher education area
Abstract In the framework of the current university reform to harmonize high education among the members of the UE, one of the most urgent challenges of the educative models consists in equilibrating the strong professionalizer characteristic of the new models giving to ethic learning the priority required by their decisive importance in the construction of the European citizenship. The teaching innovation project presented pretends to contribute to it from the area of Environmental Education for sustainable development through the implementation of collaborative learning groups on the web. It has been carried out at UNED, a distance education university with large experience in the educative use of information technologies, in two subjects of the Bachelor’s degree in Pedagogy. This study has allowed to explore the formative impact of this participative methodology and to detect some of its strengths and weaknesses.
