Teacher training and information and communication technologies. Renovation and convergence for education 2.0 in the “European Higher Education (cyber) Area”

Abstract

In this article three current subjects of great interest for education are related: the con-struction of the European Higher Education Area (European Higher Education conver-gence); the technological convergence and the significant changes that are giving rise to Web 2.0, and the teacher training on ICT (Information and Communication Technolo-gies). The constant innovation in teacher training, mainly that specific one on media and ICT, is essential for the “culture of the convergence”. It is essential as much for the construc-tion of EHEA, as for the education of participative citizens in the space or cyberspace that they are due to transform. We propose new competences for the “digital re-literacy” of the teachers, for a curricular integration of ICT as resources, contents and learning environments, that contributes to educate for global progress, personal development and social and labor integration.
