The school handbooks of the education history and the teacher's training (1900-1930)

Abstract

The article primarily describes the motives for the creation of a History of Education course in the curriculum of a Teacher's College. Secondly, it reviews the main manuals written by Spanish authors as well as those foreign authors who have been translated and published in Spain. The article concludes by evaluating the significance of the editorial production which has contributed to raise the level of this discipline in the formation of primary school teachers.
