La crisis de la política en América Latina

Resumen

RESUMEN: El presente artículo enfoca el problema de la crisis política en América Latina englobándolo a su vez en un generalizado cambio de valores en las sociedades de todo el mundo, como es el hecho de la aparición de las ideas posmaterialistas. El problema se agrava en el caso latinoamericano, cuando hay que poner de relieve los problemas económicos de la región, que hacen difícil la estabilidad política, aunque éste no es el culpable de todos los males. Las nuevas demandas sociales llevan ahora a una difícil identificación del ciudadano con los partidos, con lo cual la confianza depositada en éste será poco estable. El autor enfatiza el hecho de que la creciente globalización de la economía, es decir, el manejo desde instituciones y mercados supranacionales, provoca en el electorado una creciente desconfianza en sus gobiernos ante la incapacidad de éstos para solucionar los problemas. Esta situación lleva a una sucesión de gobiernos que con más o menos apoyo en el electorado no consigue mejorar la situación, sino generalmente sólo empeorarla.ABSTRACT: The present article focuses on the political crisis problem in Latin America while covering, at the same time, a generalized change of values in societies all over the world, such as the fact of the appearance of postmaterialistic ideas. The problem is made worse in the case of Latin America, when it has to emphasize the economic problems in the region, which make political stability difficult, although this is not the reason for all the wrong doings. The new social demands make it difficult for citizens to identify with the party, which is why the trust put in it will not be very stable. The author emphasizes the fact that the growing global economy, that is to say, the handling from supranational markets and institutions, provokes in the voters a growing distrust in the government because of its incapacity to resolve the problems. This situation brings a succession of governments that have the support of the electors more or less, but instead of making the situation better, it becomes worse.
