La deformación hercínica en los materiales paleozoicos y precámbricos al Sur de Salamanca
Abstract A stratigraphie sequence of Infracambrian age, with turbidites and olistostromes has been established in the "esquisto-grauváquico" complex. The rocks have suffered the effects of three Hercynian folding phases. No evidence of important pre-Ordovician folding has been found. The first phase is responsible for the mappable megastructures. The second one gives rise to flexures in the main schistosity in the North and to tightened, overturned folds with horizontal axial surface in the South. There is evidence of the existence of a third phase trending Ν 30° Ε and a later E-W one. Measures in deformed dolomitic nodules lead to a determination of the finite strain ellipsoid for the first pase.
