Albitización y sodificación en granitos hercínicos españoles
Abstract After an accurate definition of sodification and albitization concepts, the different textural types of the albitization processes in some Spanish hercynian granites are studied from a petrographical point of view. Microscopic studies show a large number of features that require some consideration and discussion about their relative value in the petrogénesis of these rocks. Special emphasis is given to the secondary albitization types and their petrogenetic interpretation, based on the alkali composition of the granitic melt, on the solid silicate phases, and on the volatile subsolidus phase.
