«Cuaderno XXIII»: An approach to Miguel de Unamuno's earliest philosophical thought
Abstract ABSTRACT: Here we publish for the first time, one of Miguel de Unamuno's youth notebooks, which gather notes from his earliest philosophical and political thought, as well as some drafts and personal reflections on various subjects. Its importance relies upon the fact that by reading this manuscript it's possible to get in touch with young Unamuno's philosophical approaches and at the same time it foreshadows a great amount of the concepts and ideas which Unamuno will continue to explore throughout the maturity of his thought. This notebook, makes us witness how the basque philosopher conjugates rationalism, positivism and idealistic metaphysical speculation, with a certain amount of romantic nuances, to build from there his philosophical system, as well as his earliest literary attempts.
