Abstract

My sister´s keeper (2009) is a Nick Cassavetes´s movie that tells the story of Ann Fitzgerald, a eleven years old girl that was conceived to save the life of her older sister, Karen, who suffers from Acute Promielocitic Leukemia. When her sister becomes so sick that she needs to be transplanted a new kidney, Anne decides to sue her parents over her body rights to not be forced to undergo this procedure which could affect her quality of life forever. At this moment, Anne´s mother, Sara, begins a court fight against her younger daughter, in an attempt to dissuade her to make the donation, even if that can mean that she would continue being the support on which her sister survival depends.
