Films and Teaching of Maternal?Child Nursing: A Bridge to the Contents
Abstract The purpose of this paper is to present some ideas about the importance of film and videofilms, with its audiovisual narrative, in Nurse teaching. Its function is highlighted as a link between new and old knowledge. Nursing career in the University of Isalud of Argentina presents the systematic work with films and videofilms. In this case, there are presented different proposals in the curricular space of maternal child nursing of the carreer of Professional Nursing of the University of Isalud. These proposals start from the following titles: Violencia obstetrica (2012) by Duro de Domar, Look who’s talking (1989) by Amy Heckerling, and Bébé(s) (2010) by Thomas Balmes, selected because of its possibility to generate interest and disposition to what its taught, and to interpellate emotionally to the student. Of each title it is made a general description of the material, an analysis of the fragments related with the specific contents of the curricular space and a proposal that includes different options of working.
