EQUATOR checklists for the presentation of research reports. GoodReports tool

Abstract

Introduction and objective: Reporting guidelines support authors to plan and submit the research report, facilitate the review and aid to better communicate the main idea. The objective of this communication is to present the EQUATOR guidelines for the different types of research reports through the GoodReports tool. Material and methods: Review of the guidelines for the presentation of research reports published in the Equator Network. Results: 398 reporting guidelines applicable to the different research reporting methodologies have been published. The most commonly used are the PRISMA guidelines for systematic reviews and meta-analysis, STROBE for observational studies and CARE for the presentation of clinical cases. Conclusions: Guidelines for the presentation of research reports help researchers and reviewers. Guidelines for the submission of research reports improve the quality of research reports.
