Augusto y la Lusitania Occidental: una nota
Resumen En este trabajo se plantea un estudio de los testimonios disponibles atribuibles al reinado del emperador Augusto en el marco geográ?co de la Lusitania occidental, es decir, en las tierras que hoy día corresponden a los territorios portugueses al sur del río Duero. Se muestra cómo en el conventus Scallabitanus los agentes imperiales, vista la diversidad de pueblos allí existentes, se preocuparon del establecimiento de los limites de cada uno de ellos (termini augustales) así como del trazado de una vía a partir de Augusta Emerita. En el caso del conventus Pacensis, y aunque se les prestó atención a las ciudades fundadas por César, la acción imperial no fue muy signi?cativa al respecto, como tampoco lo fue sobre la red viaria, debido quizás a las características físicas de un territorio predominantemente plano.
