El mito de las amazonas en la literatura de la época de Augusto
Resumen El objetivo de este artículo es recopilar e interpretar las menciones del mito de las amazonas en las fuentes literarias contemporáneas al principado de Octaviano. Este periodo fue fundamental para la creación de una imagen simbólica del nuevo poder, con la religión como gran eje legitimador; así, desde el entorno de Octaviano se seleccionaron divinidades y mitos que fueron incorporados deliberadamente tanto en la iconografía pública asociada al princeps como en algunas obras literarias del momento, con el fin último de refrendar y consolidar el nuevo régimen político. Intentaremos demostrar que el mito de las amazonas fue uno de ellos a partir del análisis de una selección de textos que lo mencionan. A partir del análisis literario y de la contextualización histórica, buscaremos ofrecer claves interpretativas en torno a la función del mito de las amazonas en la construcción y evolución de la imagen triunfal de la Roma de Augusto.
