Upgrading Usability and Utility Features for Shaping Post-Edition Tools
Abstract Technological advances have led to the development of ever more comprehensive translation and post-edition support tools focusing on facilitating the human’s task and improving the users’ experience when interacting with machines. This article seeks to specify the most needed functionalities to create a comprehensive assisted post-edition tool by selecting some of the existing functions highlighted as useful by experts working with computer assisted and machine translation tools. Furthermore, an analysis of the most relevant aspects of human-computer interaction and interface design will follow, focused on enhancing user experience and improving post-edition tools usability. The aim of this study is to prioritize the quality and speed of the post-edition process by improving humans’ working conditions of this emerging professional profile.
