In this article we study some archaeological testimonies which prove the existence of a cult to Saint Michael since the Visigothic period. Although irrelevant in appearance, the devotion for the archangel is of great interest in order to understand the cultural continuity which existed between the Visigothic period and the High-Mediaeval Spain. The subject is especially important as it can be considered a precedent for the success of the Mozarabic Illustrated Commentaries and for the expansión of the study of the Apocalypse and Saint John's theology since the second half of the VIIth century.
