Resumen Las fuentes textuales grecolatinas nos transmiten la especial consideración del lino para los antiguos egipcios y la prohibición de la lana en contextos religiosos. Este artículo pretende hacer evaluar estas informaciones, proponiendo un marco temporal en el que el lino se convirtió en la materia prima textil hegemónica de la esfera religiosa del valle del Nilo.
