Geología del área granítica y metamórfica al Oeste de Ciudad Rodrigo (Salamanca): I. El complejo esquisto-grauváquico: estratigrafía, metamorfismo y deformación

Abstract

A mapping and a new series of geological data of the "esquisto-grauváquico" complex in this area, emphasizing the most unknown aspects, have been carried out. A stratigraphie series over two thousand meters thick has been established. Similarly, the metamorphosed sediments, specially the thermal metamorphic rocks in which we have found a whole zonation in the calcareous levels, have been studied. Finally, four different hercynian phases of deformation have been found (three of them with schistosity), showing that the most important cartographic structures belong to phase I.
