Sobre la presencia de materiales de edad Messinense en la región de Ronda (Provincia de Málaga)

Abstract

The existence of materials of the Messinian period in the Ronda region is given to be know, dated by mean of planktonic foraminifera. We discuss the species with stratigraphie value which present problems of interpretation. In fact, the biostratigraphy and chronostratigraphy of the materials are discussed, and we arrive at the conclusion, coincident with the previous conclusions of the other authors, to chosse as a "datum plane" to mark the base of the Messinian, the apparition of G. mediterránea Catalano and Sprovieri.
