Presencia de Cyprideis pannonica pseudoagrigentina décima en el Miembro Zorreras (Sorbas, Almería)
Abstract The Zorreras Member is stratigraphically the highest unit of the Caños Formation in the Neogene Sorbas-Vera Basin of the Almería province. Lithologically, this Member consists of buff sandy and silty beds with intercalated levels of white clays. The microfauna of the yellowish beds is very poor, and is characterized by Foraminifera of a litoral environment. On the contrary, the white levels contain abundant Ostracoda, namely Cyprideis pannonica pseudoagrigentina, wich confirms the Upper Messinian age of the Zorreras Member. Chronostratigraphically, however, the Ostreidae and the Bivalvia molds of the highest levels of the Zorreras Member are not precise.
