Criterios para la diferenciación de dominios en Sierra Morena Central

Abstract

The Ossa-Morena Zone (LOTZE, 1945; JULIVERT et al., 1971) in the Central Sierra Morena area has been divided into five domains according to their stratigraphical, petrological and structural characteristics: a) Córdoba-Alamis domain. b) Sierra Albarrana domain. c) Cerro Muriano-Azuaga domain. d) Villafranca de Córdoba-El Vacar domain. e) Obejo-Valsequillo domain. The so-named domains are separated by tectonic accidents and igneous intrusions. Finally the evolution of these domains during the Paleozoic is envisaged, followed by a discussion about the limit between the Ossa-Morena and the Lusitano-Alcudian Zones (LOTZE, 1945), namely the Ossa-Morena and Centroiberian Zones (JULIVERT et al., 1971).
