Precisiones sobre la falla hética al Norte de Córdoba

  • R. Cabanás

Abstract

The controverted fault of River Guadalquivir, just in its length standing on the North of Córdoba, shows some particularities which are an evidence of its extreme complexity. Two systems of fractures are to be distinguished here, the one along the Betica trend (WSW - ENE) and the other with an inclination changing to the East or West. The former is represented principally by two lengths to the East and West of Córdoba, being the best example of the latter the NNE fault which runs out from the Ermitas (Hermitage) to the Peak of Torre Arboles. To the East of this last fracture, in the sunken bulk, two others have been produced in a Betica trend, which divides it into a flight of three steps. All these accidents are evidenced in a topographical as well as in paleontológica! and morphological ways.
