La discordancia Paleozoico-Terciaria al SW de Zamora
Abstract The Tertiary sedimentary cover in the surroundings of Zamora rests on tectonized paleozoic terrains striking NW-SE. In the lowermost part an iron rich zone of variable thickness is overlain by a terrigenous red facies. The upper part is made up of sandstones and conglomerates with abundant erosion channels. This cover is more or less horizontal and has been strongly fractured in the alpine orogeny. Its age is pre-Lutetian after Jiménez (1970).
