El metamorfismo en el límite de las provincias de Salamanca y Ávila (NW de Piedrahita)

Abstract

A metamorphic outcrop bounded by Tertiary sedimentary terrains of the Meseta on the N and the Avila granites on the E is studied. The metamorphic terrains have been mainly affected by two phases probably of the Hercynian orogeny, the first and most important one having been accompanied by a low pressure orogenic metamorphism. There is a low grade orogenic metamorphism related to the latter phase. The crystallization of some metamorphic minerals before the occurrence of the first folding pase is remarkable.
