El extremo noreste del gran dique del Alentejo-Plasencia

Abstract

The long (500 km.) dyke of Alentejo-Plasencia is mapped in its NE end near Avila where it dissapears beneath tertiary continental formations. From the petrc graphical point of view it is made up of tholeiitic vrocks including diabase, coarse grained gabbros and intermediate gabbro-diorites from edge to core.
