Datos estratigráficos y paleontológicos de la sección de Bará (Tarragona)
Abstract
The stratigraphie section of the Ermita de Bará (Tarragona-Spain) which belongs to one of the classic sections by the Pectinid fauna is described. An abundant microfauna, mainly represented by Foraminifera and Ostracoda and a palynologie assemblage, by the first time, are pointed out. In the sporo-pollinic assemblage the conifers are the most abundant. In this group the most common are the saccate conifers. The occurrence of Pinus haploxylon type is a higher proportion than Pinus diploxlon type one. The Taxodiaceae are in a lower proportion. Among the Foraminiferal fauna, the benthic forms are more abundant than planktonic ones. Is very important to point out the presence of Globigerinoides ruber beacause of its cronoestratigraphic interest. The Ostracod fauna is very little represented. Cytheridea acuminata is the most common. Among the Mollusk fauna Pectén (Amussio-pecten) stefanii and Pectén (A.) pasinii are noted by the first time. According stratigraphie range of Foraminifera and Mollusks, the section age is between the middle tolate parte of Zone Ν 16 and the Tortonian top.
