Datos preliminares sobre un afloramiento de materiales pliocénicos en Estepona (Provincia de Málaga)

Abstract

The lower part of the Globorotalia inflata Zone (lower part of the Upper Pliocene) is pointed out near to Guadalminar (Township of Estepona, Málaga). The outcropping contains a very abundant and diverse fauna. In this preliminary paper all the until now determined species are reported: planktonic foraminifera (30), coelenterates (3), brachiopod (4), mollusks (49), fishes (1), and alga (1). A subsequent study of the complet faunal assemblage is now in progress.
