Abstract

The royal treasury of the kingdom of Majorca during the War of the Spanish Succession suffered an economic downturn caused mainly by its logistical contribution to the war. This article shows the evolution of the taxation carried out by the Royal Treasury of Majorca during the war, and is divided into three parts. The first one is a description of the Royal Treasury as an institution. The second one analyses revenues and expenses and shows the evolution of the institution’s finances during the conflict. The third part is a general inventory of the royal accounts during the war.
