The «Manual de quijotismo» and «Cómo se hace una novela»: the extimate diary and logbook of a novel-in-progress
Abstract ABSTRACT: Cómo se hace una novela has often been regarded as a hybrid text, halfway between the essay, the novel, and the autobiography. A close look at the as yet unpublished Manual de quijotismo, of which Cómo se hace una novela is a constituent part, sheds new light on the diaristic dimension of the work, a perspective leading to a new consideration of its generic dimension. A political reading of the text reveals the traits of a specific rhetoric of exile which we shall define as a rhetoric of anger.
