México como mediador simbólico entre América Latina y Estados Unidos: el caso cubano
Resumen
El artículo examina la posición bifronte de México, ubicado entre América del Norte y América Latina, y su impacto en la política hacia el embargo estadounidense a Cuba. Bajo el marco de los Estados bifronte, operacionalizado en tres dimensiones (geoeconómica, normativo-jurídica y simbólico-identitaria), se recurre a un análisis histórico-documental e interpretativo de registros diplomáticos y literatura especializada. Los resultados sugieren que dicha bifrontalidad enmarca y ayuda a comprender tanto la capacidad mediadora mexicana como las limitaciones para ser percibida como parte de una sola región.
