Encuesta poblacional tras pandemia por SARS-COV2: menos riesgo de muerte súbita en lactantes de <6 meses amamantados
Resumen
Introducción: Con la pandemia por SARS-Cov2 la práctica de la lactancia materna (LM) pudo verse afectada, y con ello el contacto madre-niño. Estudiamos los cambios tras levantarse las restricciones sanitarias.
Objetivos: Examinar las prácticas de lactancia materna, la frecuencia de factores de riesgo para la muerte súbita del lactante (SMSL) asociados al colecho y la prevalencia de positividad por SARS-Cov2 en la misma población de referencia respecto a otro estudio realizado antes de la pandemia.
Resultados: La muestra final fue de 246 participantes. La prevalencia de la LM fue del 73,2 % y de LM sin suplementos del 53,2 %. Compartieron la cama de los padres el día anterior el 53,7 % y de forma global el 65,8 %. Hubo menor frecuencia del consumo de tabaco y alcohol por ambos padres con la práctica de colecho y LM. Las madres también percibieron sueño nocturno 37 minutos más prolongado. Embarazadas con prueba positiva por SARS-Cov2 tuvieron 2,5 veces más probabilidad de amamantar. La probabilidad de colecho disminuyó con prueba positiva después del parto.
Conclusiones: Confirmamos menor frecuencia de factores de riesgo en niños amamantados. Con embarazo SARS-Cov2 positivo aumentó la LM. Con amamantamiento y colecho las madres percibieron sueño nocturno más prolongado. Llama a reflexionar sobre la tendencia publicada a la baja de SMSL en la Comunidad Valenciana, aun con frecuencia alta de colecho nocturno.
