Artefactos is a diamond open-access scientific journal managed by the Institute for Science and Technology Studies at the University of Salamanca (Spain). Its mission is to provide a space for the conceptual analysis of emerging issues within the framework of Philosophical Studies in Science and Technology.
Currently, we are immersed in a redesign phase that reflects our commitment to the rapid, accessible, and free diffusion of knowledge. Consequently, we are pleased to announce the transition of Artefactos to a continuous online-first publication model. This system will allow the immediate dissemination of accepted articles without the need to wait for the publication of a full issue. This editorial change represents a significant advantage for both authors and the academic community: it reduces the time window for publication, increases the impact of research and facilitates immediate access to new advances in the field.
We invite the academic community to submit articles that rigorously address both consolidated and emerging topics within the following thematic areas:
Importantly, we will continue to accept proposals related to the Social Studies of Science and Technology until the end of 2025. In addition, we plan to publish an annual monographic issue to be defined by the Editorial Board, titled “Intersections”, intended to explore crossing points between Philosophical Studies of Science and Technology and other methodological and/or thematic approaches.
Artefactos is still committed to upholding the highest standards of academic quality and rigor. Each submission will undergo external peer review by two experts under a double-blind system. Our International Scientific Board and reviewers will ensure the impartiality and excellence of every publication.
